NYC Dream?

My dream from last night:

I’m walking down 7th Avenue with Danielle and Justin.
We were going out to eat somewhere. Where I can’t
remember, just that it was in the East Village somewhere
near Houston. So we walk down 7th Avenue with plans to
catch a crosstown bus. Danielle expresses some reluctance
but I manage to convince her it will be okay…After all,
she survived the last bus ride.

I ask if everyone has exact change of $1.75. No. So we
go into the nearby subway station to buy tokens. Danielle
and Justin each buy a token, but I decide to purchase a
MetroCard. They say they’ll walk up to the bus stop to
wait for me. I have difficulty finding the “7-day unlimited
MetroCard for $21” option. The closest I see is some wierd
card for $31. A woman walks by and notices my frustration.
She pushes a few buttons and shows me where the $21 card is
listed. I thank her, and she tells me to enjoy my trip.

Did I look like THAT much of a tourist???

So I put in $30, the machine spits out my change, receipt,
and MetroCard…only there is no MetroCard. I walk over
to the attendant on duty and complain. She tells me they
are aware that machine is malfunctioning and I can mail in
a request for a refund. I demand my money back. A large
man walks over, picks me up by my shirt and tells me to get
lost…after all, this is New York City. Dumbfounded, I
figure it best to just leave.

I walk back upstairs only to find Justin and Danielle
sitting in a slightly overgrown grassy field. Only the grass
is more the consistency of hay, dry and stiff. There are
other people dancing and playing in the field.

Hippies, I supposed…

Justin is busy tossing tiny flowers onto the back of a naked
hippie laying in the grass. Justin laughs like a schoolgirl.
I notice the flower covered hippie is a guy. Crazy.

I walk over to Danielle. She tells me to forget about the bus
and lay here with her to take a nap.

So we nap, in a grassy field filled with hippies.

So much for dinner I guess?

I can now update my journal from my Treo.
Isn’t technology great?

The Most Extreme Elimination Challenge

Last night was nice.

Delicious food, wine, good company, television…
Danielle made plans to come over and cook us dinner.
It was delightful. Nothing beats home-cooked curry,
especially when cooked by someone else! :-)

We then procceeded to smoke a bowl and watch TNN.
Most Extreme Ultimate Challenge is great. I think
I’ve found a new favorite TV show. The new Ren &
Stimpy is pretty cool too, but that Rat show with
Frasier is a bit much…kind of painful actually.
I miss chilling on the couch watching TV with
her…last night was kind of like old times.

So today is Friday.

I’m glad I decided not to risk the casual (or
business casual) friday attire as it seems nobody
else is partaking. Although, I could try and
be a trend setter…

So I had some yummy tofu at this Chinese place in the
Fashion Island Atrium Food Court.

I can’t wait for this weekend, I’ll consume mass
quantities of soy products for sure at the annual
LA Tofu Festival.

Red Rattlesnake

I guess the print is supposed to look like the scales on
a red rattlesnake. I really dig these Nature Conservancy ties.

I need to go back to Ross and buy some more. That and maybe
some of those Jerry Garcia ties. Should I be afraid of the
fact that I’m starting to enjoy wearing ties? hmmm…

So my new phone (treo270) works well, but I need to find a more
stable AIM client. The one I downloaded from
seems to cause hard crashes. The only way to recover is a
hard reset and erasing all the data from my treo. Damn, no
more Bejeweled for today!

Oh yeah, and I need to download the PDA client for lj so I can
post updates from my Treo. I can do so using the web browser,
but I have a feeling the PDA client will be much smoother.

I’m hungry…since it’s so nice outside, I think I’ll walk
over to Fashion Island and consume something in the food court.

yet another quiz…

How funny…Mega Man and all of its sequels were always my favourite NES games.

Suprise Surprise!

You are 61% geek
You are a geek. Good for you! Considering the endless complexity of the universe, as well as whatever discipline you happen to be most interested in, you’ll never be bored as long as you have a good book store, a net connection, and thousands of dollars worth of expensive equipment. Assuming you’re a technical geek, you’ll be able to afford it, too. If you’re not a technical geek, you’re geek enough to mate with a technical geek and thereby get the needed dough. Dating tip: Don’t date a geek of the same persuasion as you. You’ll constantly try to out-geek the other.

Hello memory!

I finally broke down and asked for more RAM.

128MB just wasn’t cutting it.
By the time the computer finished booting,
it had already run out of physical memory.

So basically I was loading Access and
Compaq Insight manager using paged memory.

So I added another 128 for a total of 256MB.
Much better :-)

Oh, and the drive to work this morning…also Euw.
Took me over an hour.
I was late.
Now I’m hungry.

I have to go back to Tmobile again during lunch today.
Apparently the phone they sold me yesterday is defective.
I’m gonna ask for a loaner.
Since losing my Nextel, things have been sucky.
I don’t have a phone in my cubicle.

mind numbing work

Okay…so this is really mind numbing today.

I hate Compaq Insight Manager.
It is slow.
It has crashed at least a dozen times on me today.

Apparently their hardware inventory database is
full of inaccurate information. Guess who gets to
compare the recorded information with actual
information? Yup!

At least my tie makes me smile. I bought a bunch
of ties at Ross last night. Today’s tie has
elephant beetles all over it, thanks to the
Nature Conservancy. I suppose my purchase helped
preserve the elephant beetles’ habitat. I wonder
where they get their name anyways? Do the live
on elephants? Or maybe just in elephant poo?

Either way, I get to walk around with a couple
hundred beetles on my tie. I wonder if anyone
has noticed them…

Wandering thoughts…
